H.E  Mr. Henk G.C. van den Dool - Netherlands Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Albania.

His Excellency Mr. Van den Dool, graduated cum laude from the University of Amsterdam in 1986, specializing in Ancient History and Cultural Anthropology. After a short period as a professional journalist, Mr. Van den Dool joined the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987. Both in the Ministry and abroad, Mr. Van den Dool specialized in multilateral diplomacy, European Integration and development co-operation. His postings as a junior diplomat included the Netherlands Permanent Representation to the European Union in Brussels and the Netherlands Permanent Representation to the United Nations Office in Geneva. From 1998 to 2002 Mr. Van den Dool served as Chief of Cabinet to the Netherlands Minister for Development Co-operation, Ms. Eveline Herfkens.

In 2002, Mr. Van den Dool was appointed Minister-Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Warsaw. Mr. Van den Dool stayed in Poland until 2006.

From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Van den Dool was again back at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, dealing with issues in the field of European Integration as Special Co-ordinator for Subsidiarity and Proportionality.

In september 2008  Mr. Van den Dool started his assignment as Netherlands Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Albania.
